Pshaw Hurricanes we don't care about any Hurricanes
The first year we held Chibi-Pa was 2 weeks after the third Hurricane hit Florida. Hurricane Wilma wiped out power to 2/3 of south Florida. Everyone was concerned that the event would not go on. The hotel said they would run generators if required. So we said we will go on. We did have power. And it was a GREAT event. I still remember to this day the beautiful evening out side under a tent with the winds blowing and Fushu Daiko pounding their drums. It was a perfect moment for all that experienced it.

So this year if Florida is hit again we will be there. we will supply entertainment for those who have struggled. Nagano will be coming if we have to drive to North Carolina to pick him up. We will hold it at a park if the convention center is torn down. Of course the convention center is a bomb shelter practically.

But be warned. If you do not have a hotel when the hurricane hits you will not have one after. All of the hotels will fill with workers and evacuees. So reserve a hotel now or sleep in your van.

Chibi-Pa announces performances by Fushu Daiko
Fushu Daiko was our big performance at the first Chibi-Pa. The show was beautiful and heart stopping. Daiko is a powerful form of music traditionally created to assist with workers. But the awesomeness of the rolling tidal wave of sound is amazing to a degree.
When we first had Fushu Daiko perform my mother did not believe a band of percussion instruments would be interesting. But after seeing that show at the first Chibi-Pa she asked me to bring them again.
With Help from Yoshiko sensei Fushu is back. And we can not be more thrilled. Fushu will be the opening performance of Chibi-Pa. But they will play again later in the day.

Kaiju Fight Fight Dancey Dance Needs some monsters
If you have not heard the Kaiju Fight Fight Dancey Dance is part Battle Royal and part dance. Chibi-Pa is inviting people to make monster costumes and wrestle in the bounce house ring. But do you think your monster enough. We are not asking for high quality costumes. We just need idiots with enough physical attributes to stand up and get knocked down. Put on tights with your underwear on the outside. Kapow your skidmark man. Wrap your self in ductape and you can be the duct tape zombie.

Come up with a story for your character. Be a good guy or a bad guy. Just do something.

Totoro Forest Project
For fans of Hayao Miyazaki's work, "My Neighbor Totoro" is one of his best works. Suprisingly the master took inspiration from a real Forest called Sayama Forest. This area is a small piece of rural, agricultural and forested lands just outside of Tokyo. Miyazaki has started a fund to attempt to purchase this land. This will stop the development of these lands and preserve his wonderous inspiration.

In America a group of artists has created the Totoro Forest Project. The goal of this project is to collect artwork from over 200 world reknown artist. Then they will display this artwork and then hold a silent auction. Also this work will be compiled into a book and sold. All proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Organization the Totoro Forest Fund.

Now you may wonder where Chibi-Pa comes into play? Well we have given permission for the Totoro Forest Project to set up a table at Chibi-Pa and sell their art book. But we can not just accept that we are stepping it up a notch. We will be asking artists to donate works inspired by Totoro, to be auctioned. All money made from this auction will be donated to help the fund.

So if your an artist start working now. We want your artwork. This will be benefiting what anime fans consider a great piece of memorabilia.

Kyle Hebert cancels and Comedian Arron Pabon fills his place.
Due to family obligations, Kyle Hebert has had to cancel his appearance at Chibi-Pa.  We hope he is successful in all of his future endevors.

Replacing Kyle as Chibi-Pa's official M.C. is comedian Arron Pabon. Arron has been seen at many of Florida's conventions. He is well liked and a cosplayer to boot. Arron Pabon has been active in UAO since its beginings. Thanks to UAO, Arron has attended Chibi-Pa every year as a panelist and comedian.

Nagano Update
Chibi-Pa was contacted by Nagano with the message that his TV company did not want him to come to Chibi-Pa. So We felt that we had to do something. After threat of lawsuit we had a series of negotiations. Tokyo Broadcasting was told that we were using their logo. Which we never did nor planned. The only logo we used was from an American company. And we quickly took it off our site. Also there was a number of other falsities that were blown out of proportions.

So Nagano can't wait to meet his American fans. He is happy that everything has been settled. But to ensure this Chibi-Pa made these concessions. We are not using any reference to any company that shows the shows that Nagano is on. We are not making any T-shirts using Nagano's likeness, due to the wishes of the company. There will be no obstacle course. Evidentally Tokyo Broadcasting feels that it owns the rights to all obstacle courses. I wonder how much ABC is paying them.

Other than that its completely official. Oh yeah and I am not going to the websites of the shows that Nagano appears on. This is a general boycott because of the treatment that we have received.
